Posting Guidelines and Rules (Read this First!)

These are the rules. Nice and clear. Follow them, PLEASE.

Rules:

1. NO TROLLING. If you come on here just to make trouble, your IP address will be banned.

2. No spamming. This includes off-site links(except for the allowed ones stated in rule #6), pictures of anything besides your pets or pet-related material, saying the same thing over and over, or posting the same thing in multiple topics. (We understand that double posts happen to the best of us, but DON'T try to hide behind them... its usually obvious when you're trolling, and when you just pressed the refresh button too soon.)

3. NO Foul language, please. Kids can access this site. I doubt you would want YOUR child coming on a site and seeing people swearing left and right. If you feel the need to swear, please try to disguise your words, like this (What the sh*t) It may not seem like much, but it can help those little eyes...

4. NO flaming. Flaming = Being mean to someone intentionally, criticizing someone with a nasty intent, personally attacking someone, saying they or their post or pet is stupid, etc. Basically, Flaming is just being intentionally mean. Sometimes over the net posts can be misread, I understand this, so I'll give a flamer a chance if they explain that they didn't mean what they said in a negative manner, and they apologize... otherwise I will assume they DID mean it negatively, and I will warn, and perhaps ban them.

5. No posting pornography, or ANYTHING offensive. This includes anything sexist, racist, anything that makes fun of someone's religion, or anything else that is offensive. On the other hand, if someone posts something and ONE person starts whining about it and complaining something perfectly acceptable is "offensive"... (Such as "I like corvettes." "Omg, thats offensive to me!") I'm going to assume that they're either trying to start trouble, or they have a grudge against the Original poster. The one complaining will be warned, and if they persist, banned.

6. I am the admin of these forums, and as such I reserve the right to ban people if I feel they are hurting the forum. However, I am not an unreasonable person, and if you're going to be, or have been banned, and you want to explain WHY you did something, protest your banment, or apologize to me, or the person you hurt, you are welcome to do so. If you have been banned, you may email me.

7. Links... offsite links are NOT ALLOWED... with these exceptions. Petfinder links are ok. Links to shelter or rescue websites are ok... but that is IT. If you think someone needs to see a link offsite, PM it to them... otherwise you will be notified via PM and asked to remove your link. I WILL NOT EDIT YOUR POST. That is YOUR responsibility. If I do not hear back from you within a 48 hour period, I will delete your post containing the link, and you are free to repost it without the link when you return. My apologies for any inconvenience that causes.

Adoption Posting Guildelines:

YOU MUST LOG IN TO POST. I did not realize I was going to have to make this a rule, but you MUST log in to make a listing or to answer one. If a listing is made by a guest, it will be deleted. You are then welcome to make an account and log in. Why? Because otherwise, people can assume other people's names and there would be arguments and fights left and right about who was who, etc. So please, it takes a few moments to make an account, please do so if you wish to post.

1. These boards are for ADOPTABLE pets or WANTED ads ONLY. Do NOT post equipment here. There is a section for that.

2. Please do not post multiple pets in one listing. One pet per listing, please. If you have 8 pets, make 8 listings... it won't be qualified as spam.

3. Rescues and shelters, you MUST be approved by me FIRST. If you want to post your pets up here, PLEASE PM me with the name of your shelter, and your website address... this is to ensure that no 'false' shelters or rescues start posting up here. (In other words, and individual who claims to be a rescue and charges all kinds of bogus fees. Once you recieve an "Approved" PM, you may post your pets to your hearts content... please do NOT post more than 5 pets at a time, and do not post the same pet twice. Also, no general ads, such as "Such and such rescue has lots of pets please visit" That's basically spam. Please post an adoptable pet listing, then at the bottom you may put "Such and such rescue has more ____ just like this so please visit!"

4. Wanted ads are ok, but PLEASE don't post an ad like this "hi lookin for a puppy thanks" If you're looking for a pet, please post the following info.
A. Your name
B. What kind of dog you're looking for and what age
C. Do you have an apartment or a house
D. How much you're looking for as an adoption fee
E. Your contact info.

So an example of a good wanted ad is:

"Hi, my name is John Smith, I'm looking for a Maltese, under a year if possible, I live in an apartment in NY. I'm looking to spend about $200 as an adoption fee... email me at JohnSmith@fakeemail.org... or call me at (555) 555-5555 Thanks!"

5. For those adding an adoptable pet ad..... I do not have a limit on how high your adoption fees are. And if you flame someone for having a high adoption fee, you will be warned, and perhaps banned. However. An adoption fee, if you want to call it that, should NOT be above $300.... otherwise its a sale. I won't ban someone, or delete their listing if they have a dog for over that, but I can garuntee you probably won't be getting too many interested people. I reccomend having an adoption fee no more than $200... and be flexible. Sometimes people can't afford a huge fee, but they're still the perfect family. Make it about the animal, NOT the money.

6. Do NOT flame rescues for having high fees. Rescues spend an average of $500-1000 PER animal... an adoption fee of $300 is NOT high.

7. There will be NO exotic pets, such as foxes, monkeys, or bears adopted from here. Please notify a mod if you see such a thread. Those who post these threads will be IP banned.

8. NO BREEDING OR STUD ADS. There is a seperate forum for stud service, please use that. I don't care how many championships your dog has won, please, if you're a Backyard Breeder, or even a certified one, I don't want your ads here. This is an ADOPTION website, not a SALES website.

Equipment Posting Guidelines:

1. Please, no other equipment besides pet related equipment or supplies. Things like bowls, doggie sweaters, litter boxes, everything should go here. If you post something lame like "A dining room table that my dog sat on once" and claim its pet related, prepare to be warned, and perhaps banned. This is a pet website, not someplace to sell your husbands paintball equipiment when he's not looking.

2. Nothing "Sexual" such as "selling the use of my dogs "equipment" to knock your dog up"... take it to the stud forum.

3. Please, no used food or litter. It can carry diseases... unopened bags or boxes are fine.

Stud Finder Guidelines:

1. NOTHING graphically sexual. You may refer to your female dog as a bitch, but I will NOT tolerate ads that look like this "looking for a hot bitch for my dog to f*ck" Please, be mature and refer to it as such "Looking for a bitch for my male German to impregnate.

2. PLEASE REMEMBER... Having puppies is a BIG RESPONSIBILITY. You may thing its just a matter of getting a male dog to impregnate your dog, and then she'll have puppies, but its not. You may think "Well, she'll take care of them herself, and then I can sell them for like... $300 each! Wow, thats alot of money!" WRONG. You need MYRIADS of equipment, or the puppies probably won't survive the birth, much less a few days. You need to have experience with birthing puppies, or have someone with experience with you, or standing by. If you still think having puppies is a good idea, please, visit this website. Learntobreed.com.

3. Females looking for male ads are fine.

General Chat Guidelines:

1. NOTHING offensive in ANY way, such as sexist, racist, or religious stuff. Please, don't start asking "What's better, Catholiscm or Christianity" I can garuntee by the end of the night I'll have had to ban 7 people and everyone will be upset. Unless you're mature enough to talk about it without getting upset (which 99% of the net is not) you can't discuss it. Period.

2. Pet discussions are fine, just make sure they're in the Pet discussions SUB forum, not in General Chat.

3. Once again, keep the swearing to a minimum please, and don't be nasty, or I'll be nasty to YOU.

Other than that, please, have fun! If you think something should be here, send me a PM or an email and I'll get right on it!
